How does daylight saving time affect a conversion?
When the US and Europe switch on different dates, a fixed numeric offset gives wrong answers for weeks. HourSwift reads today's real offset for each zone, so the gap between New York and London is 5 hours in winter and 4 hours in summer, exactly as it should be.
Why is the time different for places at the same offset?
Same UTC offset still means different civil time because of DST timing. For example, distant zones can share an offset but change clocks on different days. Always convert by place, not by offset alone.
What is the best overlap for a US–Europe meeting?
With US East Coast at UTC-5 in winter, the shared window is typically 15:00–18:00 in Paris (morning on the US side) or 08:00–10:00 in New York (afternoon in Europe). The planner above computes this exactly for your participants.
